STF 2022 Intensives

Getting Into Character

Delve into characterization and dialogue in the best way possible- with playful exercises that open up the imagination and activate your expressive tools. Diane’s theatre background and thirty-year career as a multi-dimensional storytelling performer give her a unique training and perspective that makes exploration easy and fun. When characters live and breathe, you find the natural rhythms of a story and your movements and your narrative voice are truthful and alive. So stick your toes in or jump off the deep end! You’ll have a supportive environment for every exploration in this hands-on intensive where we really Get into Character!

Story Performance Master Class

Bill will offer his insights on the development and performance of stories, and then focus on the work of several workshop participants. Workshop participants should come prepared to share a ten minute story (or part of a longer one) and be open to having that story critiqued. Only those who choose to share a story will be critiqued. In the intensive, we'll end up looking at the stories of three or four participants. Bill will guide workshop members in a supportive critique structure and offer insights about the individual performances offered that will highlight important aspects of performance for everyone.
