Jim does a variety of programs, many coming from his Irish background and his knowledge of Irish stories, songs, poetry, and tradition. His “Humorous Irish Stories and Songs” includes many of his own stories and songs from the Irish ballad tradition of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, and the Dubliners.

Jim’s “Traditional Irish Christmas” – a performance of stories, songs, poetry and customs related to an Irish Christmas.

“Stories By a Turf Fire” is a tandem performance with storyteller, Kate Danaher. They discuss the life of one of Ireland’s great storytellers, Eamon Kelly and tell his stories dealing with the”real” Kerry, the heartbreak of immigration, the priest and the courting and dancing.
“A History of the Irish Storytelling Tradition” is a discussion and performance of storytelling “types” (for example: religious, myth, legend etc.) as they relate to Irish stories, their origins and development.

“Driving Across America With Billy Zuckerman” is Jim’s performance based upon his travels across America in the summer of 1970 with his friend Billy. It is filled with humorous stories, songs from the time period and the joy of seeing America

In “Astoria” Jim tells of his returning to Astoria, New York having spent his childhood in Ireland. In it he describes of the difficulties of adjusting to life in New York, his battles with neighborhood kids, his love for baseball and Mickey Mantle and his comic book heroes Superman, Batman, Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy and the “greatest of them all,” the Lone Ranger.
